As someone who left a job in the corporate world to enter full-time ministry, then having to reenter back into the corporate world to sustain my ministry, this perspective is so refreshing. There is tremendous freedom in not having to rely on congregations for a paycheck, but rather being able to support them financially.
Same story. I left corporate world to pursue ministry. I quickly found that how, who, and where I was called would require me to be covocational. After 4 years in full-time ministry I returned to my previous career with a whole new approach and mindset. I’ve never felt more satisfied in my career and call than I do now. There’s so much freedom now to walk with Jesus the way he wired me to do it!

You are a living story of vocational transfiguration my brother!
This is simply brilliant. Keep making up those words Dr Beck.
Thanks for helping me feel not alone. This is exactly the kind of rethinking we need to do in the church.
Wow. This is revolutionary. Thanks Dr Beck.
